VET in Schools (VETiS)
Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) is a program which enables students to gain nationally recognised qualifications while at school. Students learn skills and knowledge required for specific industries.
VETiS can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can be undertaken while a young person is still enrolled at school and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education.
Students undertaking VETiS, which is funded by the VET investment budget, can choose from a range of certificate I and II level qualifications, referred to as employment stream qualifications. Students undertaking VETiS, funded by the VET investment budget, can complete one employment stream qualification at the certificate I or II level.
Where will it get me?
Upon completion of the Certificate II in Salon Assistant you’ll be qualified to seek employment as a salon assistant, receptionist or obtain an apprenticeship. Credits for your study effort are transferable to our other courses such as SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing and SHB30516 Certificate III in Barbering.
